Gratitude and Blessings in July

Fri 31 *I have been blessed to attend Erik and Mariel's wedding. I am also thankful we were able to make it to the ward camp out in between wedding plans.
Thur 30 *I am thankful we were able to find a new dress for my mom for the wedding, and I am very thankful that I was able to find a shirt to wear with the skirt that Kent likes me to wear.
Wed 29 *I am thankful Braxton had such a good doctors appointment today.
Tue 28 *I am thankful that I am getting my strength back. I am also thankful we had a good babysitter who took great care of Braxton while we were able to join my family for a temple session tonight while Mariel went through for the first time.
Mon 27 *I am thankful for a visit from my wonderful sister-in-law Holly and my dear friend Tia. The Lord has blessed me with wonderful friends and family. I'm also thankful for my wonderful friend Jill who took Braxton to her house to play with her daughter.
Sun 26 *I am thankful for the wonderful women from the ward who have brought Kent and I meals and are continuing to do so. We are surrounded by wonderful people.
Sat 25 *I am thankful that my first surgery is over and all went well. I am thankful for the wonderful abilities and technology of the medical world and fantastic people who work in medicine.
Fri 24 *I am thankful for worthy priesthood holders and the blessings they bring in my life.
Thur 23 *I am thankful for a wonderful supportive husband who is willing to sit with me and hold my hand when I need him.
Wed 22 *I am thankful to have 5 pints of apricot jam. I am also thankful my sister's house and our families are both safe.
Tue 21 *I am thankful Kent was able to be with me today when I needed him the most!!!
Mon 20 *I am thankful for a very fun time at the rodeo tonight with Kent, Braxton, Spencer, Kade, Carl, and Natalie.
Sun 19 *I am thankful to be done with a long weekend of working. I am also thankful for fast working diaper cream.
Sat 18 *I am thankful that Kent followed his instinct to get away from a car that gave him bad vibes on our way home tonight. I am also thankful for my great friends Ian and Tia!
Fri 17 *I am so thankful for fun and laughter with Braxton today. I am also thankful that I was able to get the bathtub and counter cleaned today. :)
Thur 16 *Today I am very thankful for a much needed nap. Sometimes you just have to make up those missed hours of sleep in the daytime.
Wed 15 *I was very blessed today to think to go see if my friend wanted to go on a walk with us. Although she didn't go she did invite Braxton and I to the pool with another lady from the ward. It was a lot of fun to get out and play.
Tue 14 *I am thankful my attempt at making black beans seemed to go pretty well tonight. I enjoyed eating them with my dinner.
Mon 13 *I am thankful very much for family night. Nothing rejuventates me more than quality time with my boys.
Sun 12 *I am thankful for the opportunity to go to church and listen to the wonderful messages there.
Sat 11 *I am thankful to have spent time with Kent and Braxton tonight. I am also thankful they were willing to go walking with me this morning.
Fri 10 *I am thankful for a day spent with Braxton dancing and enjoying each other.
Thur 9 *I am thankful Justin was willing to take Braxton so Kent and I could go and enjoy a date night watching the X-men movie Wolverine.
Wed 8 *I am thankful for a productive day getting my house back in order.
Tue 7 *I am thankful for a new swimsuit as well as the opportunity to use it while swimming with Braxton and Holly and Kamiry as well as Holly treating us to a movie night.
Mon 6 *I am thankful for lunch with Holly and Kamiry. It's so nice to spend time with them. I am also thankful for a nice woman who donated some of the flowers out of her yard to add to my patio.
Sun 5 *I am thankful the Lord has blessed our ward with a new bishop. I am thankful he is willing to lead our ward despite the greatness of the calling.
Sat 4 *I am thankful God has allowed me to live in a free land and allowed me to celebrate that freedom with friends and family today.
Fri 3 *I am thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed for me so that I can live in this free nation.
Thurs 2 *I am thankful for my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Wed 1 *I am thankful for to have my house back in order and for a wonderful picnic lunch at the park with my friend Carrie and our kids.

WHY I AM A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS (AKA MORMON)

I grew up attending the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS for short) and never questioned the things I was taught. When I moved to Oregon (age 13) many of my peers began to ask me questions and I realized that the only way I could answer many of these questions was to gain my own knowledge and testimony of the church I belonged to. I read the Book of Mormon and knelt down to ask the Lord if these things I had read were true. I experienced a feeling of peace, warmth, and joy so overwhelming that it brought me to tears. Later I wanted to have that same knowledge of a new prophet who was going to guide our church. I prayed and asked God and did not receive an immediate answer. As I watched General Conference (a world wide broadcast of talks by modern-day prophets held every 6 months) the following day the congregation sang a song entitled "We Thank thee O God for a Prophet" and as they sang again I experienced that same warmth, peace, and joy of the spirit of the Lord and I knew that Gordon B. Hinckley was called by God to lead His church here on the earth. Still today I read my scriptures often and listen to our prophet to gain more knowledge of the will of the Lord for me. I love my Heavenly Father and I know that He did in fact send His Son Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of each person in this world. I still continue to receive direction and testiment from the spirit and therefore know that Thomas S. Monson has now been called of God to be our prophet to guide us today. As it says in James 1:5 If anyone wants to know the truths that Lord has revealed to this earth they have only but to ask Him and he WILL answer. I leave these words with you in the name of my living Savior Jesus Christ, Amen!
