Mormon's exposed?

So I just saw this on the news tonight. It is a calendar with return missionaries posing shirtless in order to raise awareness for the church and also to raise money for charities around the world. The men are shown shirtless and in missionary attire as well. At first I thought it was an interesting way to bring awareness, but in the end I feel that the same thing could have been accomplished while still wearing their shirts. I also think that they are trying to do good for the church using tactics from the adversary. In relief society on Sunday it was stated that ANYTHING that arouses us is a form of pornography (can't say who but it was an apostle who said it). I am sure that there will be women who are definitely aroused by this calendar. Let me know if you agree or disagree I am really curious to get others opinions on this. Maybe I am too closed-minded. I don't know... just curious. Also if you are interested in seeing how this calendar is advertised click here. I definitely think we are using sex to advertise and I don't believe that is how we have been taught to live!

I am disgusted! I can't believe that someone would do this! That is a complete misrepresentation of all we stand for! I would say I am shocked, but unfortunately there are so many people out there doing this kind of thing now. I just want to say that I fully agree that whoever did this is using the adversary to try and promote the church....which actually is a total oximoron (sp?)! Oh well we have enough true, and clean promotion of the church that hopefully if people are truely interested in what we believe they will find out through the right sources.

I have to agree with you. I can't believe that the church would ever condone, or support an organization that would put their missionaries of god in any type of sexual light. It seems like the people responsible are just out to make a buck, under the guise of contributing awareness to the missionaries and the church.

I don't think you're close-minded. This is totally inappropriate. It's one thing if you want to pose for a calendar like that, whatever. But they're posing as missionaries for the church. Just because they WENT on a mission doesn't make it okay. Geesh - people are so stupid.

Before I looked at the links, I thought, hmmm not a big deal, it's for a good cause. Then I looked at the links. From the music playing in the background and to the "key" words printed in the ad, the church is the furthest thing from the mind.
