The Physical Attraction

Life changes you in many ways. Last night I got thinking about one of the ways married life has changed me. I gained weight after marriage and gained even more weight after carrying Braxton. I wondered (assuming I knew the answer) what part of my body Kent liked the most these days. I was very surprised when he said to me that it was my hands he liked the most because they are soft. After being surprised by his answer I realized how easy it is after five and a half years to forget about the initial reasons that attracted me to Kent. Not that I am not attracted to him in those ways still, but rather I have moved beyond those reasons and found deeper emotional and spiritual ways I am attracted to him. It's still nice to recognize those physical attractions and remember just how handsome my husband really is.

I asked myself what my favorite part about Kent is. As I thought about what it was at first I realized it hasn't changed. I love Kent's hands also. Kent has some of the biggest hands I have ever known. Not only are they big and very masculine, but they are so very strong. Those who have worked with Kent always laugh about his "brute strength." When he pounds posts to build fence for the horses it takes just a few pounds with the post pounder and the post is in the ground. When I need those hands to be soft and gentle as he cradles my child they are the softest most gentle hands they can be. They can be just as soft and still just as strong when they embrace me.

I must be the luckiest woman in the world to have such an amazing and wonderful man love me the way he does. There are so many parts to Kent that I love so very much. Perhaps some other time I will let you know what they are and what I love about each of them. For now those wonderful hands will do. As I finish off this post I leave the question to you. What is it that you love physically about your spouse. I'd love to read your feelings either on your blog or in my comments. If I don't have a feed for your blog please leave me a message to read your blog. It's nice to celebrate the love we all have for our spouses.

Thanks for this post. I am afraid I needed it bad. My thoughts about my husband have not been so positive this morning so this is the push I needed to get me thinking in the right direction. It's so easy to get caught up in the negatives sometimes that you forget all the positives...not such a great thing. Thanks for your positive thoughts about Kent. He really is a good man.

What I love about my husband??? Just kidding we are about to celebrate our 6th anniversary and it is amazing how your feelings change. My husband is so helpful after our third pregnancy together I am so glad I married him. On his days off he cleans the whole house for me so I can try again the next week. He is very patient.
