Hop Scotch, Four-Square, Night Games, etc.

Lately I have been letting Braxton go outside in the evenings after dinner to run with all the kids. The other night I saw some of the girls playing hop scotch with the squares and I taught them the version I knew. I also had conversations with my neighbors about the joy of four square, night games, kick the can and many other games. We were discussing that it seems that this generation growing up today don't get out and play like we did when we were kids. My question to you is this, do the kids in your neighborhoods play games and spend the day outside like you did as a kid? Also tell me what your favorite games were when you were a child.

I wish my kids could play outside more right now...the heat is too much. I remember playing hide and go seek till it was dark in the apartments my family used to live in, and we swam all the time, and played 2 and 4 square...wall ball, kick ball, constantly playing at the park, playing freeze tag. You name it...I hardly remember watching tv as a kid...when inside we were playing with dolls or legos or building forts! I miss those days!!

Even though you played outside alot as a child, I don't believe it was as much as I did when I was a child. As a child I hated being inside. Besides that I had 10 Acres of roaming and playing area, with no neighbors that complained about us making noise or hitting/throwing something into their wifes flowers.
As to my favorite games: Baseball, Tetherball, hide and seek, becon becon, not to mention the many games we invented to justify our being in places that our parents told us not to play in.
