So I wrote a blog and never posted it until I got this email today. Oprah Petition:
On September 25, 2007 Oprah aired a show entitled "237 Reasons to have Sex" which featured "experts" who advocated casual sex with friends, pornography, and having affairs as ways to improve relationships and marriage. (Click on the link to sign the petition please.) Today I posted that blog. If I could link you back to October 5, 2007 I would, but that is where that blog is located if you'd like some fired up writing by me.
I am absolutely appalled! I just can't help but answer my former question as yes Oprah is the Devil, or at least she's employed by him! Who is she to tell our children that it is OK and even better for their lives to be involved in casual sex and pornography as well as adultery. Does she know who she is working for and is she OK with that? I had about one shred of dignity I was allowing her, but now I see her as having NO dignity, and I have NO respect for her. I am completely outraged and don't know how to deal with it other than attacking her at which point I become in the wrong. I am finished!
While we are on the topic of celebrities I do want to say that there is one celebrity that I have gained more respect for in the past few days. The title I saw online was "Roberts dreams of being stay-at-home mom." A few years back I read an article in the Reader's Digest where Julia said that she likes doing housework and even does her own laundry. In this underlined article she says that ultimately she would like to be a stay-at-home mom who grows her own food and eats it. I just think that when a highly known actress is willing to live a normal life it is really amazing. How can you not admire her for her courage to be unlike the rest of Hollywood. Now I realize that doesn't make her perfect. She's got her own sorted past, but I do applaud her for making a great life for herself and centering that on family not fame and corruption!

That is not the first time Oprah has contradicted herself on this subject. She has aired programs about swingers (people who are married and have parties where anyone can have sex or play around with eachother and then go home like it's no big deal), Men who are married to women and say they are not gay, but have sex with other men in secret and they are part of some some underground society, Another on men and what they think about strip clubs and asking them about how much porn they watch all the while Oprah sits there and says "who am I to judge?" and makes light of the whole thing! Meanwhile she is airing shows on trying to catch those sex offenders and rewarding people who catch them. What really boggles my mind is that there have been studies done that directly coralate pornography with sex offenders and she continues to promote pornography through her shows. I have been upset with her for a while...so I really don't watch her show anymore. Anyhow I understand your frustrations with her!
I can understand your frustration about Oprah but, if your going to attack her are you also going to attack society? Do you watch other TV shows? Are you going to let your kids go to public schools? I don't think Oprah was trying to tell your kids to go and have causal sex. Hopefully good values come from what you teach your kids at home,not from what they see on Oprah, and if by chance they see that show they will have already learned that "society" doesn't always teach things we believe.
Anonymous, First of all yes I will attack society if I have to. We are living in a more and more wicked society and I am willing to take a stand for the right! As for other tv shows I really don't watch much TV just for that very reason. If you read I RARELY watch Oprah because I don't agree with her controversy. Yes I will let my kids go to public schools and that is because I will instill correct values in them and I have confidence that you can live in the world and not be of the world! My children are not going to hide their heads in the sand. I am not as concerned about my children as I am the rest of society's. How many children come home from school to no parents and watch TV. How many of those kids are going to watch a show like that and get the ok to be immoral from it. I don't know her intentions because I didn't watch that show...did you? I would just like those who are taking leadership roles in this world to have some moral integrity!
