The Summer of Change, June 2022

Amazing skies and a field trip to Arctic Circle with Cort and his 5th grade class.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

It was a good day when Cort's cast was ready to come off.

Becca Ferre, Elizabeth Hickman, Rose Hickman, Bethany Smith

Having fun ax throwing!

Waiting for activities with Autumn and MakayLee

Walking back from activities with the girls, beautiful clouds against the trees,
the giant swing and baby birds in the trees.

Nothing like finding photos on your phone from the girls. This time Alli and Maddy.

Young Men's Camp
The boys had a fun and cold (it snowed) Young Men's Camp at Camp Browning.
Cort learned how to tie a bed roll and they got to enjoy some rock climbing and repelling.

I was grateful to have these photos of the boys from Brandon Broschinsky.
Braxton was able to climb the human latter. Unfortunately, Cort missed out because of his arm healing.

Marshal's Fun with Friends
While the boys were at camp Marshal needed someone to hang out with. Thankfully, Blaze and Ryker were not only willing to hang out with him, but they were willing to take him and have a lot of fun!

Braxton's Birthday
My little boy isn't a little boy anymore.
He turned 16 this year! He's a pretty great kid!

We sure do love him!

Lots of memories we've made over the years.

💗💗💗

Since life was busy and he was at camp on his birthday he was willing to have waffles and ice cream for his birthday! I love how willing he is to be flexible.
Love him! 💖

Hill Air Force Base Air Show
with the Thunderbirds!
Nothing better than spending a day at the Wings Over the Wasatch Air Show
on Hill Air Force Base with the Thunderbirds!!!

The best part was that we were able to find Michaela and Jack and sit by them...too bad I forgot to take photos with them! 😢

I even found a Summit Ice Truck
(although we know that it is a Reddy Ice Truck in disguise) so I had to take a photo.
Shockwave was also really cool to watch. It was a truck with a jet engine.

Such a great day!

Life in June
Top Left: Back at WiO. Working in my new office in WJ. Gotta love the WiO green and my new reading glasses. Top Left Middle: We went to the park with the ladies from church for the last day of school. Marshal was hot and complained, "It's just the the playground is covered with...the sun!" It was hilarious and rather dramatic. Top Right Middle and Top Right: Marshal was very clever to think that by creating a church on Minecraft that I would let him play Minecraft now on Sunday. Bottom Left: Sometime playing Chameleon is rather ironic. lol Bottom Left Middle: Looking pretty fly in Braxton's aviator sunglasses. Bottom Right Middle: Marshal was so excited to check out each and every isle at the grocery store. ha ha Center Right: Guess he fell asleep reading. 😂 Bottom Right: It may be hard to tell, but Marshal was the hero this night. Kent saw a mouse run under the car and so he told Marshal to go kill it. I'm not so certain that Kent thought he would, but after many attempts Marshal chopped that mouse dead with a sword. 😆

Top Left: Cort was REALLY hot. So he turned the AC down to 60 degrees. When I found out he was quickly taught that the air doesn't need to be set any lower than 72 degrees! Top Left Middle and Top Right Middle: I really liked the White's hammock set up. It was really sad to see it topple down near the end of our YW activity. 😥 Top Middle: There's not a lot of fanfare, but I am really proud of Kent for taking a leap of faith and changing jobs from 20+ years at Midgley to work for Whitaker Construction. I know it will be hard to make the adjustments, but I am looking forward to seeing where this takes him. Top Right: It seems that it's cold in June. All the boys wanted to wrap up in blankets. Center Left: We took the YW for ice cream and I found a purple challenger in the Macey's parking lot and thought it was cool so I had to take a photo. Bottom Left: My kids are funny. lol Center Right: We had to take a late trip to the graves since Braxton was out of town for Memorial Day. Bottom Right: We finally got the last piece to our new couch and I think it looks pretty good.

Top Left and Top Right Middle and Bottom Left and Bottom Right Middle: I love how my potted plants are looking! Top Left Middle: Kyli Jo came and stayed with is for the night and when I got back from work I saw that she had left this note for us. It was so very kind and thoughtful! We love her! Top Right: I loved that Marshal signed this note as Pip!
Bottom Left Middle: I found that I forgot to send Christmas cards to the missionaries in the family. Oops! lol Center Right and Bottom Right: I bought these flowers for Mother's Day and as they've blossomed I have really liked them. They are called Gazania Rigens.

I love scriptures like this that give me hope that one day
I can have daughter-in-laws who love me and are blessings to me.

Talk about some heavy winds!

It's amazing the ability a strong tree has to be flexible even in this crazy wind.

Beautiful June

no longer to carry rain or usher
storm, but to add color to my sunset sky."

"There are five freedoms:
The freedom to see and hear what is:
The freedom to say what you feel and think:
The freedom to feel what you actually feel:
The freedom to ask for what you want:
The freedom to take risks on your own behalf."
-Virginia Satir

"And the day came when the risk to remain
tight in a bud was more painful
than the risk it took to blossom."
-Anais Nin
