Follow the Flag
Because of girl's camp running so close to the 4th of July, Kent forgot that it was a holiday weekend and planned a fishing trip on the 3rd of July (the 4th was on a Sunday) with our neighbor James and his boys. Kent took Cort and Marshal with him and Braxton stayed home...
...Since Braxton and I were left on our own I decided that we would volunteer for Follow the Flag. This group hangs the large flag in Grove Creek Canyon every Fourth of July. While I was very excited to participate I didn't know how much work this would really be. I got tired fast and had to step out...
...but Braxton kept on going and I was so proud of him and his strength and stamina. It was definitely an experience that I don't think either one of us will forget. We were even privileged to watch the military jets headed to Provo to do their fly over for the parade.
I didn't hurt that we got to see this beautiful canyon!
How blessed we are to live where we live!
On our way back down we enjoyed finding the flags from states of interest of our friends and family!
Sunday evening we were able to go watch part of the program where they unfurled the flag.
We stayed for a bit until we chickened out due to the rain. lol
Fouth and Fireworks
We enjoyed watching the fireworks with our kids on the Oquirrh Mountain Temple lawn.
While we waited we took selfies and Cort made friends with another boy, named Walter, who was there watching with his mom. That kid can make friends nearly everywhere we go. ha ha
Ward Campout and Donut Falls
We had a great time with the ward camping. It was so nice to be able to do an activity like this with our ward members when we missed out on so much time together the year previously due to Covid-19.
Donut falls was very beautiful! It was a lot of fun exploring!
Thanks to the help of our new ward member Brother Mellers I was able to make it up to the falls and even explore a little beyond the falls.
After I had gone off exploring I came back and heard that Kent had been encouraging Marshal to feed the wildlife.
Looks like he was able to literally hand feed this little chipmunk!

Rain, Glorious Rain!
After months of no rain and watching our lakes get very low we were so grateful for so much rain! It is such a blessing to be able to pray and watch the Lord answer those prayers.
Days of '47 Events
We had fun checking out all the floats at the Float Preview.
Marshal had fun helping this ward move the arms of the pioneers.
Our stake was in charge of a float and this was our stake float...
oh and I really liked that golden horse in the parade on TV so I took a photo.
I'm not certain why, but the parade was on Friday the 23rd instead of Saturday the 24th.
Unfortunately, the parade took a turn for the worse when a friend who was driving our
truck and trailer somehow hit the back end of the float with our truck.
It was certainly not a happy day at our house that day. 😢
Pioneer Day Fun
As we headed down to Meadow/Kanosh for the 24th of July we saw the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses and had to take some photos! Too bad they weren't headed where we were.
We loved seeing all these floats about coming together.
After the long year of Covid it was so nice to see these little communities coming together indeed!
Marshal running in the Meadow foot races.
Cort and Braxton ran the foot races as well.
Kent ran, but as usual he didn't do so well.
The Meadow champ at foot races remains!
Change in Plans
for the Kunz Family
Because of Kent's truck being in the shop we decided that camping wasn't going to be a great idea for the Kunz family. We ended up spending a day at the lake, going to dinner a couple of nights, and then going bowling the next day. It turned out to be ok.
Face Comparison
We decided to see which ancestors Cort and Marshal looked like while Braxton was gone...
Oh and turns out Syrina and I are 5th cousins twice removed!
So fun!
Life in July
Top Left: I have learned a thing or two about customer complaints while working at WiO. Make sure you take photos of your complaints. Yeah I definitely complained when the pest control oversprayed this bad. Time for some more training. Top Left Middle: Braxton showing off his "BYU" love. We love to give him a bad time about being ok with wearing BYU gear. Top Right Middle & Bottom Left : Showing off my curly hair-do for the day. Top Right & Middle Bottom Photos: I was able to attend the temple early in the morning and it was a wonderful experience. The sky was beautiful and I felt so blessed to be there! Bottom Right Photos: What a blessing to have so much rain fall. Not everyone loved it but it brought me a lot of joy! I loved seeing my neighbor Brock's post about it.
Top Left & Middle Right & Bottom Right: Marshal's messy ice cream face. Top Left Middle: Kent decided we needed an ice shaver so that we could make snow cones. Mmmmmm yummy! Top Right Middle & Bottom Right Middle & Top Right: Marshal was able to attend Paxton's Star Wars birthday party. He seemed to have a good time. Bottom Left & Bottom Left Middle: We went to see the show at Lagoon and while I enjoyed the music and magic show very much Marshal showed his feeling about it. Guess he didn't like it so much.
Top Left: What a beautiful reminder. I too can make this world beautiful! Top Left Middle: Something happened and I can't remember what exactly. We were playing Secret Hitler and It seems like I was either Hitler or a Fascist but I forgot to open my eyes when I was supposed to...so I lost. Opps! lol Top Right Middle & Top Right: This was hands down the BEST thank you card I ever received. I loved that they forget to write in it and sign it. In all truth it's kind of how I feel about thank you cards. I know they are supposed to show gratitude, but I also feel like they are somewhat formal and insincere...which is why this one just left me laughing. I loved it. Bottom Left: I'm glad that I've been able to work on a growth mindset! Bottom Left Middle & Bottom Right Middle: Two inspiring thoughts I wanted to share. Bottom Right: Turns out that I'm now a top notch clothing designer. lol
