Welcome to Summer! (June 2019)

Moab Youth Conference
Kent was able to bring me along for youth conference in Moab and we had a great time!
It started in Highland learning about Angela Johnson's amazing story of sculpting! https://www.ajsculptures.com/

Then it was on to lunch in a park along the way and then setting up camp near Dead Horse State Park. We had the most amazing views from that campsite.

We spent Friday on the Colorado River with a tour guide named Jaz who rowed us down the river both morning and afternoon. It was really hard watching someone do all the work for us. We were sure grateful for her at the end!

There were a couple of frustrating times among the beautiful moments. After rafting we stopped for a treat at the gas station and heard a loud bang. Later we found out something got caught in a pipe in the AC and broke a connection. We also lent our tent out to the larger group of leaders and on Friday after we rafted the river we discovered that the winds were so stong that they snapped our tent pole. We felt bad for the leaders and wished that we had realized the winds we that strong. We weren't used to camping on a plateau like that. Saturday morning I found a spider with only 6 legs walking along the trail. Man life can sure feel like you are only walking on 6 of 8 legs sometimes. Fortunately there was plenty of amazing scenery to keep our minds free from stress.

Saturday morning we enjoyed a short walk to some cool rocks and enjoyed spending time together. Then it was time to pack our bags and head home!

I truly felt blessed to be a part of this beautiful scenery!

Father's Day
father's+day+printables+for+popcorn+treats | Free Father's Day printable, attach to a specialty bag of popcorn!
This is the best story! For Father's Day the ward handed out microwave popcorn to the fathers with a label of something like this attached to it. They had the left-overs in a basket on the table at the back of the room in Sunday School. As Brother Staker walked into the room he joked about there being a microwave in the kitchen to pop the popcorn with. Kent jumped right up and asked if he wanted popcorn. Without even stopping to wait for the answer Kent grabbed a bag off of the table and walked into the kitchen to pop the popcorn. He came back in and handed it to Brother Staker and then sat back down. I don't think that anyone expected Kent to follow through when he walked out the door. The best part was when President Maxwell walked in and made a joke about "where's my popcorn." If he hadn't been so adament that he was kidding I think Kent would have popped him a bag too!

Braxton's birthday
My big kid just keeps getting bigger and bigger!
This year he became a teenager!

Saddly 13 means that Kent and I didn't host a birthday party with friends. We did take the kids to play Top Golf for Braxton's birthday and we all had a good time!

Scout Camp
This year for Boy Scout Camp the boys went to Flaming Gorge.

They did a 10 mile and a 15 mile hike.

They also made a visit to a fire tower.

While Kent and Braxton were at scout camp Cort, Marshal and I had fun. We went to the Pokemon movie and spent some time at the library where they were hosting their yearly Harry Potter event and spent some time at the splash pad with the Garcia family.

While we were at the splash pad Kent called needing phone numbers to auto parts stores near him. He was having some truck problems and needed the parts to get his truck up and running to drive home. I was grateful for his ability to get his truck working and other blessing from the Lord in getting them safely home!

Girl's Night
Whenever Becca comes to town there is always a fun girl's night! It was fun going out to eat together and spending time with these wonderful ladies!

Life in June
We went for a walk around Daybreak Lake one day. It was fun to exercise with the Rojas family. We also had a ton of iris this year. I was teasing Kent about cutting Marshal's hair into a mohawk. Kent thought he'd let Marshal drive.

Top Left: I saw all these Pokemon energy cards on Marshal's dresser and realized why I can never keep up with him...someone gave him a lot of energy cards (ha ha). Top Right: I had to take a shot from a video but I was able to get this shot of lightening. Bottom left two: Poor Cort found out that he has allergies. His eyes were not happy that day. Bottom middle: Braxton and Marshal cuddling. Bottom right: Marshal was being cute in the bath!

Marshal decided to record evidence of himself jumping on the bed.
Funny boy!
Too bad he broke the boards on the box springs.

Beautiful Earth
There's nothing like a summer rain storm!

Beautiful skies!
