Fun with Baby Rachel
So technically this is from December 2018, but December
has enough photos and she's just so CUTE!
Troll Patrol Award
I am very proud of Cort. This month they were working on Standing Up to bullies.
Cort overheard some serious sounding threats from a classmate and he went
to the teacher to report it. He was awarded the Troll Patrol Award of Standing Up.
Well done!
Super Wolf Blood Moon
We had a super moon as well as a full lunar eclipse on Sunday, January 20th. The eclipse makes the moon appear red and is therefore called a "blood moon." The wolf moon is apparently what the full moon in January is called which gives us a "Super Wolf Blood Moon." Whatever you call it the moon was fun to watch that night and these are my best efforts to take some pictures. Hopefully one day I will learn how to photograph the moon.
Life in January
On the left we have Cort with his new glasses. It is a fun new look for him! Marshal on the top middle photo was eating cake for breakfast. I loved the new leotard for the Red Rocks and had to take a picture of them. The photo on the top right is of Marshal eating a spoonful of peanut butter. We often call him Joe Black because they both like peanut butter. lol The bottom left picture in the middle is of Marshal trying to read who does what for family night. We found Tyson at the Elementary school's beach night and this picture convinced Braxton, Kent and Marshal to come join Cort and I. The bottom right picture is of Cort wearing his glow sticks on his face.
Someone made a Baymax (Big Hero 6) snowman that was quite impressive. With the look on his face I'm not sure if Marshal is a super hero or a super villian ha ha ha. Marshal wanted to take his dog for a walk. Big brother Braxton was nice enough to read a book to Marshal. Marshal brought in a heart rock that reminded me of Tia. Braxton, Grandpa, Grandma and Brian and Shanalea and Austin and Ashlyn and I all went to do baptisms for the dead. It was Braxton and Austin's very first time going.
They both really enjoyed it.
The title of this post is "climbing over this moutain" and these pictures describe why. It has been a long few months. We found out that we had bed bugs in October. I can't even describe the mental trauma that comes from that kind of information. Ironically they had been there for weeks without us knowing, but once we knew out mental capacities were completely overwhelmed. We had our house professionally treated but near the end of our two month no bed bug guarantee we found out they weren't quite gone (a whole other story). We had to start the process of washing everything again. As if that weren't enough we discovered there was a rat living in the wall of our house. We found the hole in the garage and fixed it. That night we found that the rat had made a new hole in the brand new sheet rock. We were flabbergasted.
While this was a rather difficult time in our lives there are two things that we gained that I am not sure would have come so effectively any other way. First we finally cleaned out the garage and can now pull the van in the garage. Yay for no more scraping windows in the cold! Second we have been able to get rid of so much clutter that we didn't realize we were holding on to. Our home feels more and more heavenly every day! It truly has been a blessing. Yes, it has been a difficult climb and I sure hope we are done, but God really does sanctify those difficulties in our lives to become cherished blessings. I am so grateful for the lessons I have learned.
Beautiful January
Finally I am so grateful for the beauty that January has brought me.
Our Savior has given us the most beautiful world to live in.
I truly feel loved and blessed!
