December 2018
It has been a busy month! From Cort's birthday to his baptism and all the fun that comes with Christmas it has been a very busy month for us. It has also been a very good
month and we are happy to have finished out the year in style!
We are looking forward to lots of fun in 2019!
Cort's Birthday Party
Cort wanted to go see Ralph Breaks the Internet for his birthday this year. Since his birthday was right before Thanksgiving we decided to squeeze it in right after Thanksgiving and before the madness of Christmas began. He invited Jonah, Josh, and Eli. We hurried to open gifts and then rushed to the movie and gave the kids cupcakes on the way home. It was a cute movie and the boys did really well.
Red Rocks Preview
Every year we enjoy taking the kids to the University of Utah Red Rocks Preview.
This year the kids enjoyed face painting, visiting with Santa and seeing a bird exhibit in addition to watching the Red Rocks!
We saw our friend Alan at the meet and he told Kent he should grow out his beard like he had. After 3 weeks of working on it Kent said that he couldn't take the shaggy look anymore. It literally looked like he had just missed a few days of shaving. lol
Cort's Baptism
We were so proud of Cort and his decision to be baptized.
He's a great kid and we enjoyed being a part of his special day!
Activity Days
For activity days we had the girls paint these nativity scenes.
It was really fun to see how the same painting could turn out so different!
They all did a great job!
Armor of God
We had a fun family night putting on the "Armor of God."
The kids enjoyed dressing up and learning how to
protect themselves against Satan's attacks.
We even got Kent to dress up!
Larry H. Miller
Sing-A-Long
We enjoyed spending the night singing a long with so
many other at the Larry H. Miller Sing-A-Long!
Next year we'll have to remember to dress up
like the elves on the shelf that we saw!
Preschool Fun
We had fun in preschool making a train and playing in the tunnels.
Christmas Morning
There's nothing like Christmas morning with kids!
Marshal was pretty excited to get a gun from Santa.
Braxton had no idea he was going to get a speaker.
He was expecting another lego set, but I don't think he was too disappointed.
Cort got a new bike which he loved, but since Santa didn't
wrap it there wasn't a video to take.
Since we were at Vista West Park the kids had to go play on the playground as well.
Marshal was the biggest daredevil!
Fun with Baby Rachel
Liesel and Jonathan and Rachel came for a visit and
we loved getting in all the Rachel snuggles we could get.
New Year's Eve Family Sledding
With Liesel and Jonathan here and anther snow storm Jonathan wanted to go play...
...this time we were happy to have Kent join us!
My family took sledding to a whole other level...
...with multiple riders on a tube...
...and chains of riders together...
...we had a great time!
There's nothing like a fun day with family!
Life in December
We enjoyed attending Braxton's choir concert! It is fun watching him perform! The boys also loved spending time at Rick's Trees (now called Knotty Elves Tree Lot) picking out our tree. Our Christmas Eve tradition is to go look at Christmas lights and we found a great street in Magna called Miracle Cove. I thought the North Pole police Santa was cute! Marshal was surprised when I got a call from Santa so I could let him know if he was being good. Marshal liked the train set so much that he laid down on the floor at the store to look at it. We drove past this truck full of coal and laughed that he must be Santa's supplier.
Marshal was exhausted after sledding with the Kunz family! Marshal felt the need to draw on his hand and left marks on his face when he wiped his face (bottom right). Cort got new glasses and he loves them! He lined his bed with bandannas which made me laugh. Cort also loved this fish and shell that came from Aunt Darcy.
Found another great saying. Saw what appeared to be a red tailed hawk on the way home from picking up Braxton from school. Kent was having fun riding a bike through the Walmart parking lot. Dusty got hurt. I found another funny bearded dragon moment. I love the book that I bought for Marshal! It's a good reminder that we are here for a reason!
Christmas Decorations
We had a smaller Christmas tree this year which was nice!
Mom and Dad also bought us these ceramic Christmas trees
like the one Grandma had! It was a fun surprise!
