Merry Christmas 2019!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to our dear friends and family! Here’s a little of what this year has brought for our family!

2019 is quickly coming to a close and my family keeps growing like weeds...literally. Braxton was happy this year to pass up his dear old mom in height. Last February we were able to enjoy watching him as he participated in the school musical Fiddler on the Roof. This year we are looking forward to watching him dazzle audiences again in the musical Cinderella. If you miss both of those productions you can catch him in the summer rocking out to the lawnmower. He’s been helping out neighbors and making some money keeping up with their lawns. He's enjoying the eighth grade and loves learning and reading. As the oldest he does a lot to help our family out.

Cort never ceases to amazing us with his vast knowledge of animals all over the world. He loves most anything from the animal kingdom but has a particular love for birds and reptiles. He continues to enjoy playing soccer and especially loves the challenge of playing the position of goalie. Cort has a great talent for art of all kinds and has been developing his skill of origami this year as well. He was also selected by his classroom peers this fall to receive an award for being a great problem solver. He’s enjoying learning all there is to learn in the third grade.

This year Marshal started not one but two preschools. That was the only way we could keep up with his great need for socialization. He tested into a preschool in the school district and he also enjoys attending a preschool here in the neighborhood. He loves his friends and is really enjoying learning his numbers and letters and letter sounds. He also has been involved in soccer this year and plays really well. He loves to be active and enjoys as he says, “Getting all his energy out!” He’s one lively boy and he keeps us all on our toes.

Kent and I are also doing well. 2019 has been a year of joyful growing for us. Kent continues to work for Midgley Construction and I continue working on keep these boys fed, clothed and cared for. We stay busy with church assignments and the blessings of caring for our family. We are thankful for the many friends and loving family that we have been blessed with. We hope that 2020 brings the joy of a new year as well as a joyful new decade. We wish you a Merry Christmas and Hope you have a Happy New Year!

Love the Robison Family!

Hilarious Times in November 2019

Temple to Temple:
Boy Scouts 20 Mile Hike
The Scouts hiked from the Draper temple to the Oquirrh temple.

Cort's 9th Birthday
Cort had a fun time with his friends coming to his Pokémon birthday party.

Lots of fun stuff from his friends!

Life in November
Marshalisms!
Top Left: Marshal said, "I haven't had that kind of pie" as he opened his mouth hoping for a bite!
Top Middle Left: Marshal told me "These are just fancy songs."
Top Middle Right: After finding a piece of broken glass at the bottom of the dishwasher Marshal said "I have great eyes to see"
Top Right: Marshal told us to "Call me apple. Because the Apple doesn't go far."
Bottom left: Marshal told me he "needed to drink his generator to get some energy!"
Bottom Middle Left: He said "Mom, the moon is getting it's jammas on and the sun is getting dressed!"
Bottom Middle Right: Kent had been teasing Cort about hunting animals and eating them. At one point Marshal got excited over the idea and Kent told him they could shoot birds and eat them for dinner. The next morning Marshal told us "Mom, we didn't have a bird for dinner yesterday." Kent and I laughed.
Bottom Right: Talking with Kent about the football scores from the previous night I asked Kent if Utah State won to which Marshal stated "Yeah, they won. Utah in the United States."

Top Left: Kent and I were headed out for a double date with the Blackburns. He said that I wasn't dressed nice enough so I had to send a photo to Rebekah and ask her if I was under dressed. lol
Top Middle Left: I was cooking in the kitchen in Grandma Holdaway's apron so I took a photo and I liked it.
Top Middle Right: Braxton was trying on hats while shopping at Kohl's.
Top Right: This giant sloth at Kohl's was about $400. While it was a fairly cute stuffed animal I did not think it was THAT cute!
Bottom Left: Cort used his birthday money to buy a sand art kit. It was fun.
Bottom Middle Left: Marshal didn't want me to take a picture of him eating ice cream.
Bottom Middle Right: Braxton didn't have any problem with me taking his picture while eating ice cream.
Bottom Right: I was texting with Rebekah asking about how her date night had gone while my date was fast asleep. He was out to the world! lol I had taken his remote and it still looked like he was holding it.

Top Left: Mashal loves to work out on the treadmill that we got from the Jones family.
Top Middle Left: Marshal enjoying a Thanksgiving feast with his Columbia class.
Top Middle Right: Marshal helped his dog fold his arms for prayers.
Top Right: Marshal working on something at school.
Middle Right: Marshal picked Nachos and salsa all by himself for lunch and nearly made it by himself as well.
Bottom Left: Marshal is a good helper who loves shoveling snow.
Bottom Middle Left: Marshal all decorated at this Thanksgiving feast at school.
Bottom Middle Right: This kid cracks me up. He rolled his bike right from the garage through the family room to the back yard because he wanted to ride his bike on the dirt/grass.
Bottom Right: I found him asleep on the floor in the corner. I guess he wanted to be with his stuffed animals.

We played the game Would You Rather and I lost. Everyone picked A and I picked B.

Top Left and Snowman pic: We got some snow for Thanksgiving.
Top Middle: Our Thankful turkey this year. Top Right: Erik and Cheryl had four basketball tickets up at the U so we invited Makinzee and Mike Loveridge to go with us. It was fun! Bottom Left: We finally updated our lights on the house and it is so much nicer! Bottom Middle: The boys enjoying pizza night. Bottom Right: Marshal was making me crazy with his birthday talk so I made a multi-month paperchain in order to keep his birthday talk in check. lol

The decade before and after was either a wrongly marked year on the photo or a huge difference in the matter of a year.

I finally finished my Mrs. Claus. It has been fun being creative with her even is she did have to go through a few changes.

I had a family member who was really going through a hard time. I didn't know how to help them so I prayed that the Lord would send ministering angels to help. I also prayed that I might remember that prayer so I would know if my prayers were answered. That night they came home doing much better than when I had seen them last. That night I had indeed forgotten about my prayer for minister angels until two friends posted about their own ministering angels. I was immediately reminded of my prayer from earlier that day and the spirit testified that my prayers had been heard.

I started to walk outside to get Marshal when I discovered that a bird was trapped in my open screen door. I decided to use the garage door instead.

Seeing This Beautiful World October 2019

The Big Boy Train
Marshal and I took our friends Julianna and Jared Coulam to Provo to see the big boy train.
We thought it would be easy to find but we weren't able to do so until we got some directions from the guy at the train yard. We almost looked at the trains in the train yard and said it was good enough. I'm glad we didn't though because it was a fun adventure to go see the old stream engine!

Soccer
Marshal has really enjoyed playing soccer this fall. He asks if he has soccer regularly and gets excited whenever we drive past the fields he plays on or practiced on. I think he will always enjoy athletics!

Cort still loves playing soccer and I think he really enjoys being the goalie! His team's chemistry is awesome. They enjoy one another and encourage one another to be their best. One of the things I enjoy is the parents do a tunnel at the end of every game.
The kids love to run through as we cheer for them!

Conference Fun
For general conference we made sugar cookies and put together puzzles. They announced a new young women's theme and I really love the changes they have made. Last month I was called to young women's as the 1st councilor and I am very excited to help bring the new program to these girls!

Rio Tinto Overlook
In between the sessions of conference we needed to get out of the house so we went for a drive to look at leaves. I decided it might be fun to head west instead of east and see what leaves were like in those canyons. While we were up there we went to the Rio Tinto overlook and enjoyed the amazing sight of seeing the mine.

It's hard to see that teeny tiny loader in the red circle of the top left picture but those giant dump trucks made a regular sized loader look like a child's toy!

My boys hamming it up!

We had such beautiful scenic views from up there.

Drive Up Butterfield Canyon
I didn't miss the large pines of Big Cottonwood Canyon but
I did enjoy the coziness of the smaller canyon roads!

The leaves were some I grabbed as we drove by since Cort wanted to start a collection!

Marshal's Speech Preschool
Marshal started speech preschool this month. I was really happy to see these pictures his teacher posted of him enjoying his experiences. He really loves to learn!

Elk Ridge Chalk Art
Elk Ridge had a chalk art festival and we stopped by to take a look.

Family's Coming to Town!
We were so excited about Erik coming to visit that we spent a lot of time tracking his plane so we could watch it come in. It was a lot of fun watching it fly by. We would have gone to the airport but it was just late enough when they landed that we needed to get kids to sleep for school the next day.

Braxton's Fall Concert
The night we planned to go to the cabin we had Braxton's choir concert.
We enjoyed watching him sing and then ran home to load up and
take off to the cabin with the Kunz family!

SilverCrest Lodge in TollGate Canyon
Family!
I can't say enough about the joy we found up at SilverCrest Lodge. Having these two girls together was priceless joy! They are both such delightful little girls!

Before going to the lodge we did a dog pile on grandpa at his house.

You might notice there are a lot of pictures of these two little girls.
Everyone enjoyed watching them!

Kylie and Ashlyn were about as close in age as these two so they had to take a pic with them!

In honor of the last picture I took under Erik and Levi's elbows we decided we needed another with Erik and Aaron. Maybe when Levi gets back I'll have to take one with all three of them.

See that face on the bottom left? That is not a sunburn. That is what my face did after I ate spicy green chilies in Erik and Liesel's enchiladas we had for dinner.

I told you everyone enjoyed those babies!

We found all kinds of quirky things that Marshal did. Like pulling the trucks out of the snow in the sandbox so they didn't get wet and placing the pool balls in the Foosball table to stacking up the pool balls in one pocket until they couldn't fit anymore. On our way home from the cabin we caught up to Cheryl and Erik so we had to take some pictures of them and they took a picture of their own of us!

Deer
One of the highlights of this trip was all the opportunities to go see animals.
We enjoyed seeing the deer...

Wild Turkey
...and the wild turkeys.

Elk
We even enjoyed seeing a couple of elk herds.

Moose
What we REALLY enjoyed seeing was the beautiful moose!

I think we could have sat and watched these guys all day long!

They were amazing!

I even stole some pictures from Liesel.

Scenery
I loved taking pictures of the scenery up there. There was SO much beauty!

Even the snow was beautiful!

Pumpkins and Parks
We had a good time with the boys at Petersen Farms.

Marshal on a tractor.

The skies that night were amazing!

We also enjoyed going to the new park by the Veridian.

Cub Scout Pack Meeting
& Awards
Cort was able to receive his Wolf award in Cub Scouts this month. He was very happy to receive it. He was also selected by his peers as a great problem solver which we missed seeing him awarded at school because we were at the cabin that day. I am so proud of this kid and all he accomplishes with the gifts God has given him.

Halloween
Marshal decided to again be Marshall from Paw Patrol this year.
He enjoyed attending both of his preschool parties!

Cort was a praying mantis and Braxton chose to use his wolf costume again
when he was invited to a friends house at the last minute.

Kent was kind enough to play along when I decided to be a purple person and
make him into the one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater.

We found some funny filters on my messenger app and decided to have some fun.

Life
The funny things Mashal says!

Marshal sure cracks us up! Top Left: He really enjoyed the leaves this fall! Top Middle: I actually have no idea what he was doing...watching bugs??? Top Right: Marshal was so excited about going to the cabin that he even tried to write "time to go to the cabin" on the board. Bottom Left: I asked Marshal if I could have a fruit snack and as he was bringing me one he asked "Mom are they gluten free?" The last three photos are just fun shots of Marshal being Marshal.

I had a little fun with selfies. Also when the Utes played California Marshal saw the red and the blue on the screen and told us the Utes were playing the cougars. lol The glow sticks were us setting up glow-in-the-dark nine square for young women's. The top right picture is a comparison of the Levi picture and the Aaron picture.

Top Left and Bottom Right: Some puzzles we did for conference. Middle: Cort enjoyed turning his bearded dragon into a lion with the scrunchie Julia Jones made. Bottom Left: Cort had a painting done at the ward party that made me laugh because I swear it looked like a marijuana leaf. It was supposed to be a dragonfly. Bottom Middle on the left: The light from outside was hitting Kent and my wedding picture just right and I had to take a picture of it.

Beautiful October
It's been such a beautiful month!
