July Fourth 2016
Every year our neighborhood has a
4th of July breakfast.
Braxton was asked to help with the flag ceremony this year.
It is so fun to watch him grow!
After breakfast is the
bike parade
which the kids love participating in!
After the bike parade we decided to take the boys and do a little
horse riding.
It was fun to get in some ride time!
Marshal enjoyed the water troughs!
Our friends/neighbors Ozzie and Ashley invited us to join them
and their family for
Fireworks
at Thanksgiving Point.
We finally took the older boys to
Lagoon
and we had so much fun that we forgot to take pictures!
Braxton was lucky enough to go to
Weblos Camp
and take his dad with him.
The boys (Braxton, Tyson Butterfield, and Derrick Ware) had a great time!
On July 24th we had the opportunity to celebrate Pioneer Day in a special way.
We stumbled upon a
family reunion
for the descendants of Jesse N. Smith. Due to Marshal needing a nap I missed the second half of the day, but it was fun to go a learn a little about my amazing ancestor who happened to be cousins with the Prophet Joseph Smith.
With our zoo pass soon to expire we decided to take one more
trip to the zoo
to get our money's worth out of the pass.
We decided to go early to beat the crowds and the heat and were treated to a visit with active gorillas. I will definitely be going again in the morning when the animals are up and moving.
It was a lot of fun!
One of our summer highlights is the
Kunz Campout!
We sure enjoy camping with our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
With little kids in the family we have always kept our distance from the river,
but this year we decided to venture down and we all had a ball.
It is one of my kids favorite places now!
My dad is a Vietnam Veteran. Many people were against the war and because of that when my dad & other vets returned home from their service they were not given a proper welcome home. It's something that I can tell was very hard on him. There is a group trying to make that right. Thankfully Cheryl learned about this group and they gave her permission to give this special 50th anniversary pin to my dad. It was very touching to see his emotion as Cheryl gave it to him.
The kids found a deer that was not to afraid of them.
They asked me to come take a picture of them with it.
Grandpa had a water balloon launcher made
and brought it with him for some family fun!
We all had a blast.
Grandpa caught one of the balloons that I launched with his hat.
The balloon won and the hat lost.
Good-bye 30+ year old hat!
We enjoyed taking some photos of the grand-kids down by the river!
For fun Kylie and I did a photo shoot.
It was fun to photograph her and catch some of her fun personality.
A few years back we took a pic of all the kids in order of their age and
another in order from tallest to shortest. We decided it was time to remake that picture
and it was fun to see how things have changed!
More fun Grand-kid pictures by the river.
Campfire fun!
