One Long and Eventful Month

You may have noticed a lack of posts this month on my blog. I have to say that it is due to many blog worthy activities that I just haven't gotten around to blogging about. It seems that summer is just that way at our house. Many people dread the summer because of the heat, but for me it is my favorite time of year because there are always so many events to choose from. The question isn't what is there to do it's more like which activity should we choose? I love it! If only winter could be this busy I would probably enjoy it too, but it's not (at least for me it's not). So here are a few of the activities that have been keeping us away from the computer....

Braxton seems to be all boy. If there is dirt to be found rest assured he will find and play in it.
There's that dirty little face.

Every now and again I do get a snuggle with my boy. As long as Cars are on the screen.

I found these "wolf" ears I made for a children's play in college and
the kids had fun trying them on.

Braxton isn't nearly as scary a wolf as Aaron is.
Cheryl had a construction hat that Braxton found a loved.
Lucky for me I found one just like it for a dollar.
Braxton loved his cars birthday cake and his cars tablecloth.
I can't believe that my baby turned three on the 22nd!

Proud as punch

Brian and Shanalea got him a Cars coloring book and play dough. He loved them both!

Braxton actually picked out his birthday present at the store. He would not leave without Kent and I buying him this cattle truck. It's not really a truck if it's not hauling something.

Just before he blew out the candle.

Make a wish...I'm sure it centered around something that transports things.

Last weekend we headed down to Fish Lake with Kent's family for the annual reunion.

Braxton loved driving Uncle Gordon's boat.

Don't be jealous, but don't I have a handsome husband! LUCKY!

Kent and I picked up our poles and one more was left so
Braxton picked it up and started fishing himself as if he'd done it many times before.

With a little faith and a quick prayer you can catch fish
after 15 years of not catching them. :)

My boys fishing! We are going to be doing this again this summer.

Just fishing with dad.

Notice the water around him? He is actually driving the boat.

Braxton and I showing off Kent and my fish. Mine was bigger by a half an inch! :)
It may be slow from here on out but just remember if I am not posting it is because we are having too much fun! Hope your summer is full of good times too!

Our Month Started Off with a Bang!

If not a bang then a rather loud loud noise. Monday morning June 1st I kept hearing a loud jet fly back and forth over my apartment. It was so perplexing because I kept hearing it and never saw it. Finally I decided to see that the Air Force was doing so I went to their website and found out that it was air force week. An honor only given to three cities a year. To kick off the fun there would be a military fly over and parachuters into the baseball game that night. Kent and I decided to get family discount tickets and attend the game. It was so much fun. We got thunderstix that you hit together and they made a cool noise. We got to watch the amazing parachuters and finally....

...the most amazing display came right over our heads. There is nothing like seeing these five planes fly RIGHT over your head!

That Saturday we decided to take off and go enjoy the air show. It was a lot of fun.

This plane was HUGE!!!!

Another view of the plane.

Kent and Braxton loved exploring the planes.

If I could tell you the names of all these planes I would, but enjoy anyway. You may have to click on the picture and get it to enlarge to really appreciate these planes.

The thunderbirds were the best finale ever!!! Next time they are in town I will
be sure to get work off so I can see their entire show.

I guess when you are in the air force you get the best seats.

What a fantastic formation.

Our Trip to New Mexico in May

Tuesday we headed to the airport and picked Devin up from his mission.
Wednesday we decided to go up to Sandia Cave and ended up
heading up to the Sandia crest as well

Braxton enjoyed playing around at the crest.

Mother and son

We tried to take this picture so many times and this is the best we came up with.

Erik and Devin on the hike to the cave.

Braxton with his uncles.

Brothers

Our family

Our placement on this ladder should have been reversed. lol
New Mexico plants

The cave is hard to see on this small picture,
but it is behind the metal bars if you click on the pic...
it was not so worth it because the cave stunk!!!

Braxton and Dad

Braxton kept grabbing all the trees as he walked by.

More pictures with the uncles.

Braxton as usual

Grandma and Grandpa's "pet"

Piggyback with Uncle Erik

Braxton has become quite the runner...it makes me proud!

One night we played a WHOLE game of Monopoly, and look who came out the winner...
Who would have thought I would be the one to watch out for.

I do have to admit that Kent decided to play as the banker only
so I can't claim victory over him.
